As the heat continues to rise I have less and less will to suffer through clothing that won't let my skin breath. Anything described as drapey or clingy is absolutely out of the question in a midwestern summer. Poplin, friends, is where it's at, and I'm loving this cropped blouse from Forever 21 and tie-front skort from Zara. Their lightweight stiffness helps them to stand off the body and promote a cooling airflow. These two pieces have been key for me this season and will definitely be in heavy rotation. Also key, these nude flatforms from Steven by Steve Madden are proving to be my go-to shoe. Of my entire flatform collection I find these to be the most flattering, most comfortable, and easiest to walk in. I'd been eyeing J Crew's washed trench for six month or more so when it went on sale I decided to buy it. Even though it's sweltering outside, sub-arctic AC settings demand an indoor layer for the season and I love the soft slouch of this one. And what better way to complete a summer safari look than with a little animal print, right?! Clare V's leopard calf-hair clutch is a modern classic that never seems to gets old. It's a little spendy, but worth the investment because we'll have it for YEARS!
Let's have a great weekend, friends!
