Despite being a near exclusive sale shopper I don't like buying clothing out of season. It probably stems from growing up in a household that stocked up on shorts in October and sweaters in April: I was always tragically a year behind the times. I've since accepted that my fashion choices are at the will of the wisp. I'm a trendy girl and I have little interest in storing this years' markdowns for next. Except, I recently came to realize, when it comes to outwear.
I had an epiphany during my winter wind-down when it occured to me my go-to winter coats are wool J Crew styles I've had for years. 'If I'm so trendy', I thought, 'why do I prefer the classic shapes and colors of my J Crew staples?' I imediately got on their website and found all these beauties marked down anywhere from 50%-75% of their original price. The regular retail price of most J Crew coats is a little scary for me, but with the markdown, these fabulous coats are within my budget.

I'm pictured here on the !!LAST DAY OF WINTER!! in the Majesty Peacoat. It's perfect for dreary transitional days that demand a warm coat but beg for spring optimism. I got my usual size, and it fit like a glove. Despite my distaste for buying clothing out of season, I'm certain I'll still be in to this coat next fall/winter. HAPPY SPRING!
